Critique this

If you want to critique me you must go over the Monica's Pixel Perfect and link up too :)

I guess I would consider myself somewhere between Intermediate and pro. I have yet to charge my advertised fees, but I have charged a lower 'friends and family' fee.

This was from a recent engagement session with a life long friend of mine.

  1. I really like your edit. The ring is pretty crisp which seems to be your focus area. I would suggest cropping out some of the top so it is not distracting and having too much "nothing" area. Cute engagement shot!

  2. I think I would agree with cropping a bit at the top - otherwise I LOVE this shot!! Your black and white seems a little cool - blue - which I ONLY notice because I really struggle with that myself. Is that what you were going for, though?
    Beautiful, romantic moment you captured!

  3. It's a great shot and I love the expressions on their faces.

I would crop the top off a bit, down to near her head, and the left side, to tighten it up (the focus isn't primarily on their faces). It's a little washed out and overexposed, so I might change the contrast a bit and soften the lighting.

I really love the focus on the ring and the pose!

  4. I almost posted one just like this for the critique this blog hop! I love having the ring in focus and the couple in the background. You did a great job with making the focus on the ring, but showing the couple in the background. I would agree with the above posters and crop the top a little bit! I have a hard time with black and whites and try to play around with some actions I download from the coffee shop blog. I would be interested in finding out what type of look were you going for in the coloring of this image? Great image and I'm sure the couple loves it!
