What's in a name?

Coralee:
We planned on one day calling her Cora or Coral.....that has yet to happen.
We picked the name pretty randomly, as we came across it in a book.
There isn't much info as far as the meaning of the name, some say "Coral"
other say that as a variant of  'Coralie' (a French name) it means maiden.
Not wanting to deal with other people's opinions on the name, we chose not to tell anyone
before she was born. So it wasn't until after her arrival that we learned I had a great aunt named
Cora Lee.
So cool!

Haakon:
pronounced: {hawk-en}
or if you're Scandinavian, get some spit in your throat and try to make the 'aa' into
a long gurggly 'o' sound.
For me there is quite a bit more meaning behind his name.
First off, it's Norwegian, and it means, 'noble of the highest race; exalted son'.
It's also the name given to the first born prince of Norway (hence the name)
learn about the current prince Haakon here
Where I got the name from though, was THIS prince Haakon.
Long story short, this prince was in danger of being killed by vikings,
so some birkebiners (birch-leggers) had to ski him to safety.
Today this ski trek is celebrated by the Birkebiner ski race,
a 50k cross country ski race held around the world.
I had the privilege of racing in the American Birkebiner back in 2002.
I would love to be able to race it again some day,
with Haakon on the sidelines...I'm just not sure that's a reality.
Even more so, I would be SO proud to see Haakon do the race some day :)
