change
I've heard it said that in Minnesota (and other upper midwest states)
there are two seasons;
winter and road construction.
There is a very true point to that,
but,
I more often feel like there are 6 seasons.
You see, once you pass labor day,
you can pretty much kiss summer good bye,
but you can't quite call it fall.
The same thing happens in the spring,
it's like spring and fall almost need to be cut into
pre-sring and spring
and
pre- fall and fall.
Of course these changes can't be marked by a date,
they come as the weather changes.
That massive storm system that created all kinds of crap around the country?
That moved us from 'pre-fall' to fall,
and here is the evidence of the change....
Frost {though not our first}
Frozen bird bath
{there have been some very upset robins in our yard today}
Cocoa drinkin' kiddos.
Laying around the house in a cocoa coma.
That's it proof that we moved from 'pre-fall'
into real fall.
Next up:
snow!
Those 1st two shots are amazing. Love them. I am not ready for frost yet. Glad it isn't too cold in NC yet.
ReplyDeleteYou've inspired me to get out and photograph the next frost. I think today might have been the first here. Love your pics and your blog.
